Derrell C. Roberts Library: For Faculty

The library staff are ready and eager to help you find the information you need. Good information literacy skills are crucial to academic success and we will teach you how to find information, how to analyze it, and how to apply that information.

Course Reserves

Library staff are happy to place items on Course Reserve for your classes. We have created a guide that hopefully answers any questions that you have about types of items that may be placed on Course Reserve, how long they may remain on Course Reserve, and how and when to seek Copyright permission for Course Reserve placement. This guiding document has been written in anticipation of being able to support Course Reserves in electronic format and the guidelines and laws in place for their management. We have provided a Sample Permission Letter in this packet as well as an online request form for Course Reserve placement. There are links to helpful sites about Copyright and to the USG site regarding Copyright.

Library Account

How do I check out materials?

You must have your Roadrunner card to check out materials. Loan periods are until the end of the semester for faculty and students and you may have up to 10 items at a time checked out on your record. (Note: Media materials (such as DVDs) check out for one week. Reference books and periodicals do not check out of the library)

Fines - Fines are charged on all circulating materials if they are not returned on time.  There is a one-week grace period beyond the due date during which fines will not be charged.

Can I view my library account information online?

You may access your library account via the online catalog to:

  •  view items checked out and renew materials online
  •  check on pending requests for GIL Express and Interlibrary Loan items
  •  get GALILEO passwords

From the Library Catalog, click on the "Sign in" link to access your account.

Computer Access/Printing

Currently enrolled students as well as faculty and staff may access the computers in the Computer Lab or near the Circulation desk by logging in with your Dalton State username and password. Each semester, students receive a $15.00 credit on their RoadRunner card for printing. All students, faculty, and staff can add funds to the Roadrunner Card by:

  • Visiting the PHiL in Roberts Library (cash only)
  • Visiting the Roadrunner Card Office in WestCott Hall (cash or check only)
  • Visiting the eAccounts website here (credit or debit card)
  • You can also download the eAccounts mobile app to your smartphone (android or iPhone). Go to your app store and search for eAccounts.  Make sure to pick Dalton State as your school.  To make the mobile app easier, create an account, make a deposit, and save the payment info on the full website first.
