Criminal Justice: Broken Windows
Broken Windows Theory
"‘Broken windows’ is shorthand for the theory that neglect of relatively minor incivilities can create a permissive environment for anti-social behaviour, which can lead to a tipping point where crime problems become serious and out of control". (source: Credo Reference)
James Q. Wilson and George Kelling are credited with this theory after publishing an article in the Atlantic Monthly in 1982.
