This recording was for a freshman-level Humanities class originally, and so some of the explanation (and the promise not to make students read the original!) are probably not at your level, but I think the overall explanation is a good one, and it captures some of the attitudes as well as the language - it helps to know what people were thinking when we look at the way they express those thoughts.
