Online Teaching Tips
- Create or check your course using the Dalton State QM Rubric (See Attachment on the right side of this page).
- Develop a strong teaching presence in your course
- Post a “Welcome to the Course!” announcement that is enthusiastic and motivating
- Be first whenever possible - you set the tone for the students
- Respond to all student queries, etc., within 24 hours
- Be certain feedback is detailed and positive in tone
- Respond to all—or nearly all—student discussion postings.
- Post frequently asked questions in your course
- Give frequent assessments
- Give frequent, timely and positive feedback
- Use the Discussion Board and set clear guidelines
- Familiarize yourself with all the tools for quizzes
- Help your personality come alive with audio and/or audiovisual.
