Instructional Technology is a college-wide function at Dalton State which serves to develop and enhance the college's ability to deliver education to students at remote locations, and meet institutional distance learning goals.
Through intercampus sharing of resources, CETL facilitates collaboration among schools and departments to deliver quality distance instruction, faculty and student services, and initiatives.
Students cannot see their classes until the first day of each semester.
Distance Education at Dalton State makes higher education a possibility for those who face life obstacles to taking courses in a traditional face-to-face classroom setting and for those who prefer to utilize distance education. Distance learning allows students to learn and complete coursework in ways more convenient to them while maintaining rigor. We seek to extend the ability to earn credit toward a degree or certification program to those whose life circumstances, such as work, family, or distance, make attending face-to-face traditional classes impractical.
Through distance learning, students can attend class whenever and wherever is convenient to them just with the use of an internet connection. Since distance learning courses have learning outcomes equivalent to traditional courses, students taking DL courses earn the same amount and level of credit as they would in a face-to-face class.

USG GoVIEW - eCore - eCore uses the Georgia Online Virtual Instruction Enterprise Wide (GoVIEW) is a learning management system for online collaborative programs, such as eCore and eMajor, offered by University System of Georgia (USG) institutions. GoVIEW Brightspace by D2L is used to deliver courses online to students throughout the USG. GoVIEW uses the Brightspace by D2L platform to deliver fully online collaborative course offerings and is an integral resource supporting online education in Georgia.
