Dalton State College Trails

Welcome to the wilder side of the Dalton State College campus! There are about 2.5 miles of hiking trails for you to enjoy in the beautiful forest on the side of Rocky Face Mountain. These trails are of intermediate difficulty.

Trail Hours: Open from dawn to dusk

Rules

      1. The forest is a wildlife sanctuary. Do not remove or harm any plants or animals.
      2. Please do not litter. Take out anything you take into the forest.
      3. The following are prohibited:
        • smoking -
        • alcohol -
        • fi res -
        • camping -
        • hunting -
        • fi rearms -
        • bicycles -
        • motorized vehicles

Emergency Services ...911- When you call for help, be sure to give your specific location. Give the trail name or color. Each diamond trail marker has a color and is numbered (as shown on the right). If possible, go to the nearest trail marker and report the marker number to the operator.

Directions to Main Campus

Dalton State is located approximately 85 miles north of Atlanta and 20 miles south of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Southbound on Interstate 75 from Chattanooga, Tennessee

      • Take Dalton Exit 333.
      • At the end of the ramp turn right and then take the next immediate right onto College Drive.
      • Dalton State is located 3/4 mile on the left.

Northbound on Interstate 75 from Atlanta, Georgia

  • Take Dalton Exit 333.
  • At the end of the ramp turn left. After crossing the interstate, take a right on College Drive.
  • Dalton State is located 3/4 mile on the left.
