Undergraduate Scholarships

There are various scholarships for business students.  For example, the Logistics and Transportation Association of North America (LTNA) has networking opportunities and scholarships to offer your students in supply chain management. There is also an annual conference in October. Their website is www.ltna.org to send students to apply for the scholarship program. This organization has approximately 25,000 logistics’ professionals throughout the US and parts of Canada. They have a vast and inclusive network of members which could be of value to our upcoming graduates looking for a career in the LSCM field as well as students interested in internships to learn about the industry first-hand.

Students can apply for the APICS scholarship. Currently the criteria is a rising junior or senior majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, have cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher at the time of the award, maintain full-time enrollment (12 + credit hours per semester), and demonstrate financial need as determined by completion of the FASFA.

Being an HACU member, as a Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), offers additional opportunities for internships, travel funding, and scholarships. See: https://www.hacu.net/hacu/HNIP.asp.  For example, late August is the deadline for accounting majors to apply for the $10,000 Jorge Caballero Student Leadership Award.

Two new scholarships were established in 2019.

  • $10,000 to be added to the Bitsy & Stuart McFarland Scholarship in Business Endowment Fund; and
  • $25,000 to establish the new Ken ’88 & Lori Cyree Scholarship in Business Endowment Fund.

Berkman Charitable Foundation offers several scholarships. They award approximately 50-60 scholarships annually. Since 2014, 186 students at Universities around the US have received scholarships and 8 marketing faculty have received research grants. Over 40 U.S. veterans are among the award winners, including nine Combat Infantryman Badge holders.

To apply for a scholarship or grant, visit the Foundations’ website at http://berkmanfoundation.org/. First time entering freshmen will be required to submit letters of recommendation when they first apply. Once they become a current student, they do not need letters of recommendation.
