SWOT Analysis

Many of the business databases in GALILEO provide SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis for companies. In the box below, you will find a tutorial for the Business Source Complete database, with instructions on how to access the SWOT analysis, as well as other types of company and industry research reports.

Not able to locate a SWOT analysis report for your company?  Read through the trade journals, newspapers such as Wall Street Journal, and create news alerts for your company and its competitors.  You may also want to look at the "Risks" section in a company's annual report.  This will give you an idea of some of the threats to that company or faced within that industry.

PESTEL Analysis

When researching the macro-environmental (PESTEL) forces surrounding your industry, use Advanced Search features and combine terms such as:  Automation AND "Transportation and Logistics Industry".
