How do I check out materials?

You must have your Student ID (RoadRunner card) to check out materials. Loan periods are 3 weeks for students, 2 weeks for community patrons.  (Note: Reference books, periodicals, and movies do not check out of the library)

If you are not able to visit the Dalton State campus, the Derrell C. Roberts Library and the Sequoyah Regional Library have a reciprocal agreement. This allows you to check out books from the Pickens and Gilmer County Public Libraries using your Dalton State College student id card.

GILFind - Our online catalog.  Use this to find books located in the Roberts Library. Change the search scope to find books located all over the state of Georgia.  If we don't own the title you need, we can usually borrow it from another library.

GALILEO (Georgia Library Learning Online) - GALILEO provides access to over 200 databases which contain articles, web sources, media and electronic books.

Circulating Collection -  These are books you can check out of the library and are found on the 2nd floor of the library. Most check out for 3 weeks, but it you need it longer you can renew.

Microfilm/Microfiche - Back in the day, libraries could not keep copies of every magazine, journal or book, so they converted the documents to film.  Librarians are always available to help you use the microform readers/printers!

RoadRunner Card = Library Card   - Always have your RoadRunner card with you!  You'll need it to check out materials from the library.
