Library Instruction: About the Library Instruction Program
Roberts Library has a dedicated library instruction program whose mission is to promote information literacy by teaching students to use library resources and services effectively. The overall goals of the library instruction program are:
- To help users develop the critical thinking skills necessary to retrieve and evaluate information resources.
- To complement other classroom learning and enable students to identify information resources pertinent to their course work and research.
- To teach concepts and processes of information retrieval.
- To prepare users for effective life-long use of library and information resources.
Faculty members may arrange a library instruction session by contacting the reference/instructional librarian responsible for scheduling classes or by completing the online Library Instructional Request form.
