If you have a question regarding writing style, visit the Writing Lab located in the Liberal Arts Building, Room 315.  Faculty members are available for assistance during open lab hours.  Check the Writing Lab's web page for more information.

Use the Assignment Calculator to determine how much time is needed to complete your assignment. 

Reference Assistance is individualized help with a specific question or need. Reference librarians are available to assist during  the hours the library is open. Library staff are also very knowledgeable about library resources, computer applications, and general information about Dalton State College.

How do I check out materials?

You must have your Student ID (DSC One Card) to check out materials. Loan periods are 3 weeks for students, 2 weeks for community patrons. Best Sellers check out for a 2-week loan period.  (Note: Reference books, periodicals, and movies do not check out of the library)

Late fees are .25¢ per book per day to a maximum of $5.00

Can I view my library account information online?

 You may access your library account via the GIL online catalog to:

•  view items checked out and renew materials online
•  check on pending requests for GIL Express and Interlibrary Loan items
•  get GALILEO passwords

Log in to GIL Online Catalog and click on the "Access my GIL account to" link. 

Home Institution : DALTON STATE

Use arrow next to Barcode & select  Institution ID

Enter Institution ID (number starting with 9000 on your student  ID)

Enter your Last Name. 

If you don’t have a PIN, click the “Get My PIN” link.

The PIN will be sent to your DSC email address.

If you have a PIN, enter your PIN number.

Click the Login to My Account button.
