What are GIL Express and Interlibrary Loan
GIL Express and Interlibrary Loan are services provided to DSC employees and students that allows them to borrow library materials from other libraries.
GIL Express allows patrons to place their own requests in the GIL Catalog (a shared catalog of the University System of Georgia libraries). It's a transaction between the patron and the other library. Always free.
Interlibrary Loan allows librarians to request materials for patrons from any U.S. library through a shared catalog and is a transaction between libraries. Almost always free.
